I’m a women’s college graduate with a major in Public Health and experience in teaching. I’m currently working for the Mayor of Atlanta and figuring out how to navigate this world of business suits and fancy events.
However, my life is about to change in a BIG way.
I was recently selected as a Teach for America Corps Member in Chicago for 2014! This has been a dream of mine for years and I am so excited to be living it out!
I’ll be getting my Master’s in Special Education during my 2 year commitment with TFA, and plan to get another Master’s in Social Work after that!
I began this blog with hopes of documenting this time of transition and growth as I go from college student to working professional to Special Education teacher.
I’m a lover of the outdoors, funny friends, coffee, my fur-babies, and Netflix. I can’t walk out of Target without buying way more than I planned, buying clothes for work makes me happy, and I take way too many pictures of my cat, Alfred Angelo.
Oh, and my boyfriend, D, will be making an appearance or two around here. I think he’s a pretty cool guy, stick around and you probably will too!
I was born and raised in good ole Idaho, lived in Atlanta, Georgia for college and am about to start my life in Chicago. That is, after living in Uganda and Mexico and visiting Europe and India a couple times. It’s time to figure out where I’m heading next. I think it may be time for another adventure.
My hope is that as you read along, you’ll feel empowered as well to chase down your own dreams and make them happen. I hope you’ll enjoy following along on my journey as I work toward my own version of happily ever after.
